Catholic Church believes that abortion is an atrocious act, a grave sin and they have certainly excommunicated many for commiting the act.
However, because it is a Holy Year, a year of Jubilee, the Pope wants to show mercy and allow all priests to forgive any woman with a repentant “contrite heart”.
Pope Francis said that women who have had abortions, “bear in their heart the scar of this agonizing and painful decision” and thus mercy is to be shown during Dec. 8 to Nov. 26.

That is one of the problems in the world. Good laws. For life are given in the bible. A much better world if people realized he teachings in this great book…

Oh,Phil, I didn’t know you were so against Catholics. The Media is the problem here. I have worked with many women that have had abortion. We never have turned our back on the sinner. Remember we are all sinners and need forgiveness. We need to reach out and help.
No need for a third party for forgiveness … We all have a direct access to ask God forgiveness, His blessings, … it’s called prayer.
That’s God’s job!!!!! Between the sinner and the Lord…NOT a MAN!!
