However, because it is a Holy Year, a year of Jubilee, the Pope wants to show mercy and allow all priests to forgive any woman with a repentant “contrite heart”.
Pope Francis said that women who have had abortions, “bear in their heart the scar of this agonizing and painful decision” and thus mercy is to be shown during Dec. 8 to Nov. 26.

Wow some of you need to stop the hate. Pope Francis is not trying to be God. He’s giving the priest permission to forgive these womens’ mistakes within the Catholic church, so that they can feel accepted into the church. People make mistakes and ultimately have to face God’s judgement. Who are we to judge these women here on earth. I am against abortion and would never have one. However, I am not going to excommunicate a person who is trying to regain their faith. Instead of just reading about the Catholic faith through google and other media sources, the church itself would be a good start. I’m not going to tell you to worship God the way I do, but before you knock a religion you should do some serious research using factual resources. I am thankful that we are all Christians and have our own faith. In today’s world , we need to love one another and treat eachother with respect. We have enough division. Jesus was our example and it is through his teachings that I try to model my life. Peace and love to all.

The pope can’t forgive any thing that’s not done to him abortion is a sin against God and only he can forgive. man can only forgive what’s don’t to him personally all sins are done against God and only he alone can forgive them.
