Physicians, at least the more vocal ones, are predominantly Democrats, and by that I mean socialist, Obama sycophants. They got behind the Constitutionally challenged Obamacare program in order to require people to buy insurance they didn’t want and pay much higher premiums for much less service, but it did create a financial sinkhole of new government workers to run the program, so it is all good.
These same docs are against eating anything that tastes good, and they are just now realizing that government required electronic medical record keeping is hugely expensive, time consuming, and often incorrect. But hey, it’s the government so how could it be bad?
Into the mix now comes Dr. Eric Fleegler of Boston Children’s Hospital who spoke at the American Public Health Association (APHA) 2015 annual meeting in Chicago in early November. He is calling for much more government intrusion into the private lives of American citizens, this time using family physicians to serve as government spys.
Somehow that does not sound appropriate for a health care professional, does it?

Floyd James To Doctors and their Staff:
I am posting this on facebook because the question was asked if I had any unlocked guns in my house and additional questions regarding my mental health to determine any depression. Most of the information written here was found on line and recopied without credit to the author because they do not want any credit even thou the writing is very good. Doctors, your “feeling” that you need to know whether or not your patients families have firearms in their homes does not trump our right to privacy. Our Federal Constitution’s Second Amendment does not pre-emptively trump my right against self-incrimination.
Although some doctors may ask their patients whether they have firearms at home, there is no provision of Medicare regulations that require you to do so. Its purely an individual initiative on the part of various doctors. I understand that you feel a temporary need to ensure the “safety” of your patients. Please understand that I have a duty and responsibility to protect my family, kids, grandkids, and keep them safe 365/24/7. Your priority is short term, mine is long term.
I understand that you took an Oath to “Do no harm”. Understand that over 54 years ago I took an oath to defend this country and its Constitution against ALL enemies – Foreign AND Domestic. Nobody has ever relieved me of my duties under that Oath. My military service was spent protecting this country and my family. I still have a responsibility and duty to protect my family both short term and long term.
When you put these answers into your computer, it is FOREVER. The current administration would like to see ALL medical records kept in one place ie, the federal government’s HHS. Once there, who will ensure my right and my offsprings right to privacy or “Doctor/patient confidentiality? Will you? Will you swear an oath to protect that information and any repercussions that may occur?
What if the government decides to scour all data bases to determine who has guns, HIV positive, heart disease, cancer. What? You don’t believe me? Do the current scandals of the IRS or NSA hit a nerve? If you follow history, you will know that in the 1930’s Germans were required to register fire arms. Guess what happen?
Florida passed a law in 2011 prohibiting such inquiries by Doctors and their staff. I wonder if Mr. Birdwell and Mr. Cook will support such legislation in the State of Texas?
Taking guns away from the law abiding INCREASES gun violence
my dr forgot to ask me so they called me up and said i needed to go in they had questions the insurance co. wanted answered. the insurance co didnt know anything about it I didnt go in so they called me again and said i had to be there face to face, I didnt go in again so they sent me a letter {registered} saying he would no longer be my dr. he had all my medical info. thats all he needed to answer any medical questions.
Is Kiss my Azz an appropriate reply?
if my doctor were to ask me I would decline to answer!!!
And it is your right to tell them that it is none of their business…..
And find a new Dr…..
Anyone with Brains will tell the physician to F*CK OFF when asked about guns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our criminal government has no business getting the medical profession involved in their anti-Constitutional gun control!
Just SAY NO, END OF STORY,
