The ‘Minerva Research Initiative’, was started the year of the banking crisis, 2008.
One study at Cornell University, managed by the Air Force, aims to discover the tipping points of civil unrest as they relate to social media. Twitter posts, for example, are examined “to identify individuals mobilized in a social contagion and when they become mobilized.”
