Patriot picks up the slack and cuts the grass at Lincoln Memorial

After the government shut-down sent many U.S. Park Service employees home Chris Cox of South Carolina made it his “mission to spruce up the lawns, trees and trash bins near America’s grandest memorials before the weekend, because a ‘Million Vet March’ event is expected to bring scores of retired servicemen and women to the nation’s capital.”
Cox emptied hundreds of trash cans along the national mall, cleared a fallen tree, and even mowed the lawns at the Lincoln Memorial, until a ‘bully’ park officer made him stop mowing and told him he could not pick up the trash.

Cox, 45, is calling on Americans to bring rakes and lawn mowers to war memorials and clean up what furloughed government workers won’t.
