The Democrats just never get tired of trying to promote gun control to gun owners and failing miserably. Of course, this is because many of them simply can’t relate to them, as was made painfully apparent this weekend.
Speaking at the NBC/Youtube Democratic debate on Sunday, former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley defended his position on gun control by touting his relationship with gun owners. Attempting to defend his anti-Second Amendment record, O’Malley claimed that he’s, “never met a self-respecting deer hunter that needed an AR-15 to down a deer.”
Setting aside the unlikelihood of his claim that he regularly fraternizes with gun owners and deer hunters, O’Malley’s statement is stupefying. Yes, maybe deer hunters don’t need AR-15’s to shoot deer, but have you considered the possibility that maybe, just maybe, they need them to defend themselves?
To be fair, O’Malley, with his well-trained security escorts, probably doesn’t understand why anybody would need an AR-15 to protect themselves and their family. It should, however, keep him from opening his mouth on topics that he has little understanding of.

William Mills a 7mm is a good round however it is a little on the small side to ever be the most popular caliber. That’s why the 30-06 is so popular, its big enough to kill almost all north american game yet still somewhat gentle on the shoulder and the pocket book. Right now my favorite is the 300wsm.
William Mills a 7mm is a perfect antelope caliber. Long range, accurate and fast.
Hey Marty I never met a person that needed one sheet of toilet paper to wipe their aerse but when things get shitty you need it that is why you buy it by the roll……
Replace AK-47 with what you like. Say, nobody “needs” a motorcycle, nobody needs a tattoo, nobody needs a car, a home, a cell phone; it doesn’t matter what it is, who had the right, to take your rights away?
Btw, the2ndamendment is part of the bill of rights. Not the constitution
He asks why someone need an AR-15. . . I have 4 of them. Wonder what he thinks about that?
Daniel Coneybeer here in Pa alot of hunter’s use 22/250 also 222 , 22 hornet and can tell you that my 2 sons and myself harvested deer they use 22/250 and 222 and I use a 270 and and when the deer were processed the smaller caliber visibly did way more damage than my 270 so to say they are not effective is not an accurate statement I’ve seen it
Bob, do you not know the Bill of Rights are the first 10 amendments of the Constitution?
They are to defend my family from clowns like you
It’s not about thinking an AR is appropriate for home defense. Its about the free choice of a tax paying American citizen to have that choice to decide what he/she feels is necessary to protect their family. My family is my life. They are priceless to me as I’m sure your families are to you all. If you choose an AR or a 22 Derringer to protect them, who are we to judge? Who is anybody to tell you how to defend your family or what to use to hunt with to feed your family? Ppl hear AR 15 and automatically try to label you a gun nut or an extremist. The AR is a very reliable rifle which is why it’s gained such love and admiration by gun owners world wide. Unfortunately, the AR in liberal world is frowned upon like a pit bull meanwhile, a shot gun can do way more damage than an AR.
