Barack Obama is going to make a move on tightening gun restrictions after the holiday season ends. That’s what senior congressional aides and some in the gun-control community are promising will happen after the President returns from a holiday vacation in Hawaii in January.
The San Bernardino shooting prompted a legal review of the current gun control laws, “scrubbing through the law” as White House Press Secretary, Josh Earnest, put it. Ostensibly, the review is to help Obama find ways to limit weapon access to terrorists and future potential mass shooters, but the fallout of any executive action will inevitably limit every citizen’s access to firearms.
While it is currently uncertain what the President can realistically impose as far as gun control, both sides in the capitol believe, as one senior house GOP leadership aide put it, “something is brewing on guns.” As the New Hampshire primaries approach, Obama will do everything he can to shore up support among establishment Democrats, including affecting seriously harmful executive impositions on citizens’ rights.

This story is weak on facts. The writers need to focus on who EXACTLY said what, instead of “the commitee” or something equally vague. Lame story, guys. It may have actual value if the facts were represented properly.
It’s about time a common sense approach to controlling the US obsession with guns. The NRA is nothing but a pseudo terrorist group creating hysteria about limits on guns and gun ownership.
It mat get SCOTUS off their duffs to make the right decision or to make the wrong decision, on the validity of the second amendment. Hopefully SCOTUS will castrate the power of executive orders, as well, because they are not laws voted on by congress.
This isn’t all about Oblunderbutt. It just amazes me that he still has supporters, that are willing to watch this once great country being flushed right down the toilet.
They are all getting their pockets lined quite well. sad state of affairs.
It is completly necessary to combat the violence by ensuring resposibility by those who legally purchase and own fireams. Dragging our heels over constitutional issues does nothing, and no one is suggesting any alteration or repeal of the second amendment. The correct wording can be easliy obtained, and laws outlined, if Congress is willing, but it is not willing to work as a governing body, which serves the people’s well being, and continually blames the current administration for Congress’s own inaction and balk. Whatever we can do as a nation to curb gun violence is a must, and inaction is a failure to provide a safer environment for future generations. No one is disregarding any current threats by radical militants, no matter their creed, religious, or political view and belief, however we do need to save us from ourselves, before we can move forward on other fronts.
