In celebration of Eid-al-Fitr, which is loosely the Islamic equivalent of Thanksgiving, Barry and Michelle Obama released a statement on whitehouse.gov that cited the “many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.”
So, I guess if you’re an entrepreneur who spent countless hours away from family and friends building a successful business, according to Obama, “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

I watched about 10 minutes of Oprah interviewing Michelle tonight. That’s all I could stand. In 8 years you would think that woman could have acquired some class, at least some poise. It’s like she wanted to break into slappy, happy, pappy talk the entire time. She is hard to watch and listening to her blow her own horn was grueling!

So, they did have a part our history in the 1700’s – a negative part, just like they have today. They had pirate ships that overtook merchant ships and enslaved their occupants. Nice culture that hasn’t changed in 400 years.
