This article is sensationalism at it’s worst. To understand what is going one you need to understand what ITAR is and why it is necessary. This article claims that restricting certain information because it is in the public domain – in this case available on the internet – Obama is doing something illegal. Guess what folks, not everything available on the internet is there legally and should not be considered “in the public domain”. A good example is someones stolen social security number and other personal information. Should that be considered “in the public domain and freely accessible” simply because it is on the internet? Protecting and controlling ITAR information is in the best interest of our country and the world in general.
