I have to agree with some of the comments about the government trying to confiscate all the guns in this country. It was a a folly to even consider that. Obama can’t guarantee that every law enforcement agency would even comply with such an order. That includes local, state and federal agencies. As many of you have already seen and heard, Sheriffs across the country are publicly stating that they will NOT follow any order for gun confiscation. Oath Keepers, another organization of active and retired police officers and Military Police have vowed not to violate the Constitution by way of an unlawful order. Keep in mind, that many of those law enforcement personnel also have personally owned guns, they have family members who own guns, friends who own guns. Does that fool in the White House actually believe that officers would go after those people? If Obama really pushed to force gun confiscation, liberals will see the real reason for the 2nd Amendment. It was NOT for hunting and target shooting, when it was written. Those were give since you didn’t see a Food Lion or Publix grocery store on almost every corner. You had to hunt for food, so it was like taking your tool box out and doing some work for the day. It was for protection for themselves when hunting and from those who might do them harm. It was primarily written for the people, Americans who felt threatened by the government and may be looking at some despot trying to take away their rights. Keep in mind, the very first two amendments are freedom of speech and the second to own a gun was to protect that freedom of speech.
