Due to the budget cuts imposed by Obama the Army will fire 500 majors, which began at the end of last year.
“Many of the 1,100 captains who were cut earlier this month were serving in Afghanistan and “the same thing probably will happen with some of these majors,” stated Gen. John F. Campbell, who will soon take command of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.

For you people that have no idea of how the system works, it’s not the president it’s congress, the same congress that has done nothing for the past few sessions. There are several reasons that the military would cut manpower. 1) After every war the American public cuts the military, they feel the war is won we don’t need them any longer. It happened after the Revolutionary War and every war in between that and the Desert Storm/Shield. 2) Congress allocates money, money that is used to pay salaries, when congress cuts the military budget the armed forces are forced to reduce troop strength. Manpower is not the biggest part of the military budget but it is the easiest and quickest to show a cost reduction. The same congressman would not stand for major defense contracts to be cut, for then it would mean money out of their pockets.3) as technology improves our weapons systems less manpower may be needed. I remember when we transitioned from F4s to F15s, we took major manpower cuts not only because aircraft crew components went from 2 to 1 but maintenance requirements on the aircraft were reduced drastically.
When the cuts are made they will be done just as in the civilian sector, the most qualified stay. Those who fail to get promoted, lack the education requirements, have disciplinary records are the first to go.

Why doesn’t he cut the number of unnecessary golfing trips he takes that costs millions of dollars. Cut his and Michelle’s budget before he cuts the military’s. Just another way for him to weaken our defenses and try to destroy or country. Wake up Congress, wake up America.
