President Obama should have been impeached long ago. He has shown himself time and again to be willing to ignore the constitutional limits of the presidency and undertake actions which are blatantly unconstitutional. He took an oath of office to uphold the laws of the land, but he has ignored them so often that it is a surprise when he actually supports established law. His willingness to completely ignore laws and invite liberal legislatures and lawmakers to violate well established laws such immigration legislation in order to swell the rolls of Democrat voters is incredibly unethical and blatantly illegal, but he does it without blinking an eye.
Obama is no legal scholar, though his supporters will claim he was a professor of constitutional law. Nothing could be further from the truth. He was chosen for law review in law school simply to fill the affirmative action roster. He wrote no legal papers or opinions that would have gained such stature, but he was the right color to make his law school feel better about themselves. He was a lecturer at his alma matter, Chicago School of Law, not a professor, and not on a tenure track. His student scholarship at that school has been hidden from the public, so it appears that there is something unseemly or embarrassing there as well. And his legal “reasoning” when there has been a legal debate in public has been very weak and poorly reasoned and does not suggest a strong intellect or understanding of the law.
What Obama does have is a gigantic ego and an arrogance that is unprecedented. Rather than a president, he believes he is a prince that can simply decree a law or policy, and it will be carried out. He gets angry when anyone objects to his whim and desire, and he is no doubt the worst president we have had in generations. Now that his presidency is nearing its end, he is once more trying to force his illegal and unconstitutional will on the people of the United States. It simply cannot stand.
Obama anxious to violate constitutional law, page 2:
Actually, no he can’t.
Alexander Hamilton rules on Supreme Court Justice picks; the Senate is correct and Obama is wrong. Simple!
I always thought it was simple.
The POTUS nominates, and the Senate decides whether they even want to hold an to hold an up-or-down vote,
The Founding Fathers were revolutionary men who were taking down a monarchy. They didn’t want to give the POTUS kingly powers. They definitely didn’t require the Senate to hold an up-or-down-vote.
Somewhere Alexander Hamilton is smiling. For the battle that’s beginning over President Obama’s nomination of Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court vindicates the famous Founder’s assurances on judicial appointments.
Hamilton knew that Americans would find their protection from would-be kings in the wisdom of the Senate. He marked this point in 69 Federalist, one of the columns he wrote back in 1788 under the pen name Publius.
The topic of Federalist 69 is the “real character of the executive.” It makes it clear that in filling the seat once held by Justice Antonin Scalia, President Obama is at the complete mercy of the Senate — and should be.
I agree! Alexander Hamilton is smiling somewhere!
“President Obama is at the complete mercy of the Senate!”
Hamilton and the other Founding Fathers had led the American Revolution against the authority of the British Crown!
They were all there in the first place because the “Pilgrims and Strangers” had fled tyranny and religious persecution!
A ragtag team of Patriots got on that rickety wooden boat, crossed the Atlantic for 6 weeks with not much more than 150 extra pairs of shoes, and set off to establish Freedom!
They knew that ANY government would ALWAYS find it’s way back to tyranny and oppression.
The Founding Fathers worked hard in those early days to set up some roadblocks from that happening.
They spent weeks in that closed hot room in Philadelphia in the Summer of 1787 writing our Constitution!
They set up the Separation of Powers.
They set up the 10th Amendment, handing almost all power to the states.
They set up the 2nd Amendment, that protects the Constitution as well as all the other Amendments in the Bill of Rights.
They set up the very specific protocol for appointing a Supreme Court Justice…
…So that the power of the POTUS or SCOTUS could not be used to forward tyranny!
You did your job Obama…now let the Senate do their job! It is THEIR job to decide whether they even want to hold an to hold an up-or-down-vote!
Hamilton says!!!
Pro-Choice anyone? The Senate has the Constitutional Right to Choose…whether they even want to hold an to hold an up-or-down-vote!
The problem in the Republican Party is the establishment politicians.
Ever wonder why, even after they regained control of the upper house (senate) nothing seemed to change? Even though they controlled both houses?
They are doing their jobs. By protecting the Constitution and our country from obama’s “scorched earth” campaign.
It is way past time for the congress and the senate to do their jobs.
He can’t do it on this and he knows it. Once he appoints, his part is over, it is out of his hands entirely. The Senate has the entire right to wait as long as they wish. It is completely in their hands now.
More presidential abuse of power which Obama swore he wouldn’t do as president…..more of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”….and the sheep-like majority of America couldn’t care less…..
Really? Obama is gone guys. All the excuses are gone too. Both Houses of Congress are now Republican, Supreme Court Republican control for last 8 years, next President Republican guaranteeing a super majority (7 out of 9 Supreme Court Justices, first time in history). No more liberals to blame. How are they going to explain to the American People why Roe vs Wade is not reversed, IRS is not closed, no passage of “flat” tax, & no repeal of Obama Care etc. It will be entertaining. The dog just caught the car.
so what if he does…the no balls spineless GOP won’t stop him.. they are too busy trying to stop trump and get$#%&!@*ary elected.
BS
