Fifteen year’s in a North Korean prison with hard labor is the future for American tourist, Otto Warmbier, the 21-year-old University of Virginia undergrad, convicted of subversion. The trial in the North Korean Supreme Court only took an hour to convict and sentence.
The college student was first tried in the media, where he was forced to confess, through tears, that he had attempted to steal a banner. The North Korean government said he committed “an anti-state crime with ‘the tacit connivance of the U.S. government and under its manipulation,'” yet it is difficult to see how the United States was connected with this petty crime.
Warmbeir begged for forgiveness for this alleged ‘hostile act’, saying that his attempted theft was to bring home a trophy from the hotel in which he was staying. Yanggakdo International Hotel, like many hotels in North Korea has areas off-limits to foreigners. It was in this part of the hotel that Warmbeir attempted to lift the banner.

Trump step in n save this man, this is unhumame by all means, these are total barbaric ppl.!!
We need to send some of these clueless college snowflakes there!
We can’t go to hostile lands commit crimes of stupidity and expect to walk. Was the kid stuoid yes is it our governments responsible no. We must be responsible for our actions.
First, he’s a tourist in North Korea. That alone casts severe doubts on his intelligence. Second, he went to a restricted area in a police state. The IQ points are starting to fall like rain. Third, he tried to steal state owned property in said police state. The verdict is in, guilty of stupidity in the first degree. That is the crime he’s doing time for
Wow ya’ll must have been angels in high school / college. Was he ignorant for even going to North Korea.. yes. But a 15 year sentence there equates to a death penalty. The kid doesn’t deserve to die in a concentration camp for taking a political poster off the wall. That’s even if he did it in the fist place. Being an American from a wealthy family and fraternity member of Theta Chi made him an ideal political prisoner. I’m sure if he was your boy/son you wouldn’t be saying “tough it out” etc. Get real!!
Even with their goofy hats, still taller than those underfed, mindless, brainwashed dipshits. Go Trump! Rescue like the old days!
BooHiss!!! No Korea, LET HIM GO!!!
I think the biggest problem people have is thinking that when they leave the U.S.A. the “Constitution” and it’s laws of protection go with them. Not happening. In other countries unless there are agreements or some kind of Treaty, you are on your own. For me there is no way that I would ever leave the U.S.A. for any reason, At my age, I’ve been around long enough to know that the people running our government have screwed over many countries and the reason why “We the People” are hated is because we do nothing about it.
I bet he really loves their form of government now. he’s learning what a dictatorship really is. that communist propaganda sign must have been worth so much to him.
What the hell was this idiot doing in North Korea ? Even Bernie Sanders only took his honeymoon in the USSR !
