Any responsible American understands how a budget works. You can’t spend more than you take in. If you do, you have to spend less, or you’ll lose everything in the long run.
Somehow, the people we send to Washington D.C. — supposedly with superior intellects and our best interest in mind — haven’t learned that lesson. Every year we elect people who promise to balance our budget and release us from the constant threat of increasing debts, and nearly every year those very people go to Washington and spend more money, and put us deeper into debt.
All but one, it seems. One Republican legislator is finally trying to create real consequences for members of congress should they fail to balance the budget, and for once they, not the American people, will be the ones hurting should they fail.

If they had to take Social Security like we do when they leave and retire that too, would be fixed.
and give Soc Sec increases BEFORE you think of increasing your own pay
A balanced budget is a priority but these politicians have no clue what we are going through trying to live on our money and keep up with the taxes. If they had to live on normal pay and no bribes, no lobbyists, and no other perks they would probably leave office. I would like to see them live on $1300 a month, and be expected to pay for Dumbamacare. Idiots all, cut their pay, make them work and earn it like the rest of us do.
We have been saying this for the last 50 or more years. Congress just doesn’t want to do it. Can you blame them for not wanting to cut their own salaries? It would be like cutting your own throat. Nice idea but it will never happen.
About time but I doubt it will be passed.
and the pay should NOT be retoactive, meaning they get paid for the days they were not paid anyway. the pay they miss should be forfeited permanently. these bloodsuckers have been farting throught silk long enough.

Reparations. I’m tired of hearing minorities wanting reparations. I am a minority that has worked all my life. I have paid social security in, all my life. Now I want reparations of all the social security monies that have been illegally directed towards food stamps free health care free money free educational programs free housing. ..it’s time the US GOVT pays back all the social security taxes they have stolen and squandered on nothing programs. Reparations now for the taxpayer…NOW!
Best thing i have heard in a long time & maybe all of their assests should be taken to pay off U.S. debt since they got us there.
