Any responsible American understands how a budget works. You can’t spend more than you take in. If you do, you have to spend less, or you’ll lose everything in the long run.
Somehow, the people we send to Washington D.C. — supposedly with superior intellects and our best interest in mind — haven’t learned that lesson. Every year we elect people who promise to balance our budget and release us from the constant threat of increasing debts, and nearly every year those very people go to Washington and spend more money, and put us deeper into debt.
All but one, it seems. One Republican legislator is finally trying to create real consequences for members of congress should they fail to balance the budget, and for once they, not the American people, will be the ones hurting should they fail.
To see the legislation, continue reading on the next page:

I completely agree!
When the Continental Congress first decided on what the Government should be the Congress did not get paid. It was considered an honor to serve the people of our country. The congress assembled for 3 months and for the other 9 they held jobs just like everyone else. This is the way it was and the way it should be now.
This will be so good…..none of them will get paid……..
Nice! Smoke n mirrors boys and girls!
I have to balance my budget. They are working with our money. It is not theirs. They are our representatives. They have forgotten.
They all need to be fired for not doing their jobs anyway for not aresting Obama for treason
about time
Here’s a novel idea: if the nation is running out of money all the time, increase the income. People do that often, and call it a “second job.”
The U.S. could simply stop looking the other way, when billion dollar profit corporations, somehow not only don’t pay taxes, but apply for huge “subsidies” for which their CEO’s should be bitchslapped, by Uncle Sam.
Maybe when Congress is working on budget issues they should set a limit on how many dollars total during a four year Presidential and Vice Presidential term can be spent on extra curricular active and wardrobe. Should save us millions and the P & VP can learn to budget themselves just like the rest of us do.
Reduce spending.
