Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

government is in charge of water, water shortage ensues. IFa business ran it, there would be salinization plants already built.
Y’all keep your Californian $#%&!@*es there. Stay away from Texas
For crying out loud. It’s a desert that we bring water into. The aqueducts used for this have been undergoing lengthy and expected renovation/repairs. Without the artificially moist environment created by US, it will become a desert again as it naturally is. OMG, oil prices around the world might rise because it won’t be as cheap to remove. Yes, LA is the worlds largest active oil field and that is why we brought water in. Cali and her entire economy are built on dirty oil and selling it to countries with no environmental restrictions. How’s that CARB and EPA working out? Keeping japanese radiation out?
The liberal morons decided to cut off the water for irrigation it is what they deserve.
Valerie, you took the words right out of my mouth! Dudes you live next to an Ocean and house a very large % of the most wealthy people in the US. Figure it OUT!
If you have little to no grasp as to what climate change and “global warming” is, sure.
