Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”

Everyone needs to be concerned about the Pacific Ocean. Its dying. Also off the SW coast of California a very large area of water is incredibly warmer the the surrounding water, started 2 years ago and yes drought has been getting worse. This warm water is changing or altering the circulation of the pacific changing the weather patterns and altering or destroying marine life ecosystems. To date they haven’t come up with a reason its happening nor do they know how long, the fear is the US and other cou trues are staring at a potential drastic climate change. Wondering if this is a precursor to the end end. When ocean starts dying everything is impacted.
If you look up planet history about the major deserts, it’s only a matter of time before that area will be uninhabitable. It’s been over used and abused.
