Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

I agree but once all the Libs have shot themselves in the foot. Desalination takes a lot of energy. CA won’t allow power plants to be built. Their wind turbines and solar cells won’t cut it.
Instead of building a fence on the Mexican border, built it around CA and not let the idiots out.
Gov creating a problem so that you will call on gov to be the solution to the problem. They are protecting a fish so later they can control all the water and make you grateful to pay all you have for it.
Shouldn’t be getting rid of dams… but they did save a hoot owl.
Give me a break! This is not a conspiracy. It’s a tragedy.
Well what ever they decide I hope they DON’T DECIDE TO COME TO OREGON
Doesn’t help nestle pumping us dry, and we have to release the Colorado to Mexico, and we are forced to release fresh water into the ocean to for improvement and we let all our rain water run out into the ocean instead of faking it and pumping it into reservoirs
let the liberals in that state start digging wells
We don’t have that problem in Duluth. We’ve got Lake Superior right here that’ll never run dry.
Ocean desalination plants, just like they do in the middle east
