Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

Is about time they stop playing God.
seems those preservationists, liberal voters in CA are getting what they all voted for, they are literally preserving the whole state….drying it out and saving?? it?? I’ve told many of them in the past 15 yrs., you cannot preserve a living thing….one can preserve a oak table, but it’s already a dead tree. But I guess they have it all figured out, right?
this is all very doable with many great changes, only most likely it wont be done.
Maybe we could build a pipeline and send water from eastern states..oh, wait, Obama hates pipelines!
hoax
NESTLE is their backup plan. The California government already made that deal, so until anybody holds them accountable…..
California river water should not be allowed to run into the Pacific Ocean. Conversely as much Pacific Ocean water as possible should be desalinated.
If only this was true… We need to build walls around California and New York like the one on the Mexican border… Write these people off… Parasites
Looking for water on mars and not concerned with Earth …typical
California made their bed and now want the rest of the country to lie in it. They did this to themselves and now are like panhandlers begging for handouts on a street corner.
