Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

Oh I’m sorry I thought we could process salt water.
Sell California to Japan. Or Mexico. Even ISIS (drain their resources).
Nice use of sarcasm lol
No rain, nature is doing what she always does. Man made habitable places are doomed to fail over time. Mother nature always wins.
All I know is I don’t want you goofy sons of $#%&!@*es in texas we have enough stupid here to deal with
Yes its bad
Maybe they should pray for water and do a $#%&!@*ing rain dance.
No they will get it from Nevada and drain us dry
You want a back up plan??!! Say, $#%&!@* YOU, to the environmentalist $#%&!@*holes and build more $#%&!@*ing dams!!! All the damn rain water you get goes straight to the ocean!!
This is so startling! Unfortunately, the politicians have made some unwise decisions to appease tree huggers and progressives and this is the sad consequence.
