Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”

You guys act like making drinking water out of ocean water is next to impossible, do any of you realize that navy ships do this on a daily basis, where do you think they get their water, they dont fly it in.

doing it for a ship vs a state is different. gathering all that water off our coast could do plenty to harm our underwater friends.
And still going full steam ahead on a ridiculously expensive bullet train. Bunch of morons running that state! Spend that money on aqueducts and pipelines and pumping stations to fill reservoirs when it does rain instead of watching it go straight to the ocean
Well I suppose now would be a good time to stop wasting water on million dollar lawns and Golf courses! That would help a lot!
