Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

Wasn’t global warming supposed to cause sea levels to rise?
Reroute the water from the Colorado river
Rule 1 build houses by a water supply.
We need to start building that fence now. The last thing the country needs is a bunch of crazy liberal Californians invading across the border to pollute the vote in other states!
Global warming is causing the oceans to rise , but California’s water problem has nothing to do with that . Fresh water is their problem. Over use of the resource is one part of the problem…too many people/industry using a limited resource. Coupled with that is the fact average temperature rises has resulted in significant less winter snow fall in the Sierra Navada mountains, with significantly reductions in Spring melt runoff. Low snow melt means slow flowing rivers, which results in low lake levels. Californians are screwed for the foreseeable future. If you don’t want to say the problem is global warming you don’t have to, but we do need to call it something and deal with it.
Tell the Chinese to stop stealing our water. Yes, they bring their tankers to America and fill the hulls of their ships with our lake and river water.
Where is the water going? Look into the FRACKING wells
Desalinization plants they are on the frigging ocean front. But i bet some pinko hippy liberal will boycott that idea because some darn algea will be in jeapordy
Filter ocean water?
