Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

Wyatt Fritz you sound stupid, there’s this thing in the sky called a sun that does change our weather on this planet, so in effect, yes there is climate change that occurs every hour of every day, but very very little climate change is cause by the inhabitants of this planet. Typical libral, take a half truth and try and spin it as the whole truth when your premise is based on a lie. Smh….
My question is…. Since all the climate change zealots are in California, how is it that their state is the first one taking a dive? The liberal thing to do would be to blame the states around you, preferably the red ones. In reality it’s because of liberal policies. Your state is run by liberals, the president is liberal and until recently the senate was controlled by your party as well, so save the “republicans did it” mess for someone else…. The republicans haven’t been able to p$#%&!@* anything in years. This rests on the shoulders of the democrats. If California would allow water to be priced at fair market value then your almond farms wouldn’t be chewing up 1 trillion plus gallons per year. There would be no profit in growing nuts. Considering that your state agriculture was due to the diversion of a river that doesn’t naturally flow through your state, yes this is climate change, it’s your climate changing back to what it was before you started stealing water from the other states. If you hurry and buy an electric car maybe you can save the day !
Daaaaa!
Not the same bridge! Not the same River! This whole thing is about rich mega agriculture getting tax payer money to pipe water to their pistachio and grape growing operations! Despite the fact that they use more water than the tax payers who are going to suffer! This isn’t about save the washer is about redistributing wealth to the already mega rich
Wow ley, apparently you didn’t p$#%&!@* 7 th grade natural science, I feel bad for you
James, again you’re playing checkers. … you need to upgrade to chess
I got water for sale
Hopefully California slides into the Pacific ocean and then they will have plenty of water. Arizona will be ocean front
Build a long gutter from nc to ca and they’ll get everything back in a week
