Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”

The only blame is California itself!! They continue to fill swimming pools by the millions, water golf courses, have their pretty fountains. The only water restrictions are to charge people more if they use more. This only hurts the poor and the rural communities. The filthy rich dip$#%&!@*s that California is not short of will be happy to continue to waste water and pay a higher bill as the rest of California get the shaft. And don’t let me start on the 3″ dogfish that the stupid $#%&!@*es pump 150,000 gallons of water each day into the ocean to for.

page 2,3 Ok did that, and well it is about to late isn’t it, Saudi has been doing it forever because they started out as a desert, I will never understand that lack of logic out there in CA. Great they are doing it now, yet it has been a 25 year drouth? I imagine the need for power will be the next problem because of over regulation and they can only buy so much power from other states. I know there is at least one dam in Wa producing power for CA. Honestly I think they are screwed, but I am crazy and think the GOV controls weather with the Haarp system and that this is being done intentionally so what do I know.
Arizona isnt far behind. Not enough water in these states to sustain the ever growing population. Everybody seeing it and no action being taken.
