On Monday, the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP called for the removal of the a sculpture that depicts Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson from Stone Mountain Park. The massive sculpture careved into the mountain measures 90-foot-high, 190-foot-wide.
How far will the purging of symbols of the Confederacy go?
SEE PAGE 2:
So let us first remove all signs of historical past from our America then give in to foreign countries demands to further deminish the country our forefathers fought to create for us.
Is this possible to remove this section and put it in a museum for those Confederate Buffs . It really is a beautiful piece of Art Work. – And I don’t blame those American people who might be offended .
it will go until someone says,”beat it, punk”
Just for the record: Confederate soldiers, sailors, and Marines that fought in the Civil war were made U.S. Veterans by an act of Congress in in 1957, U.S. Public Law 85-425, Sec 410, and Approved 23 May, 1958. This made all Confederate Army/ Navy/ Marine Veterans equal to U.S. Veterans. Additionally, under U.S. Public Law 810, Approved by the 17th Congress on 26 Feb 1929 the War Department was directed to erect headstones and recognize Confederate grave sites as U.S. War dead grave sites. Just for the record the last Confederate veteran died in 1958. So, in essence, when you remove a Confederate statue, monument or headstone, you are in fact, removing a statue, monument or head stone of a U.S. VETERAN
Since we don’t want reminders of the civil war.
Lets send every black person in the country back to Africa as well.
Bon voyage people.
I call for the removal of spoons at the All you can eat buffets because they are making un- racist people fat……….
I second the motion to remove the Racist Offensive NAACP
removing monuments isn’t going to change the past,if it offends you, don’t look at it
No way. that is part of history.like it or not..
Its not about black and white, shouldn’t be that is, if you are not racist. One thing is you are supposed to learn from the past but I see a whole lot of people have forgotten the past. Therefore it is bound to repeat in one form or another…be careful what you ask for…you might not like what you get!
