Appearances matter. Case in point: a 14-year-old Muslim boy who enjoys tinkering with things was arrested after bringing a homemade clock to his Texas high school. The clock was inside a hard case filled with wires and batteries that made it appear to be a homemade bomb.
The arrest prompted speculations of Islamophobia from the Islamic groups, but police say they won’t charge him with creating a “hoax bomb.” Photos of the device would cause anyone to question it.
Ninth graders have been known to blow themselves up for Allah. Can people be blamed for the…alarm?

The school and police did the right thing.
Lol logic class. You really do need a book to read.
Cliff Lokey. Forget lawsuits, profiling etc. He was wrong.
Joshua Dinham. Give it a rest, hand.
Better to be safe than sorry. It did not resemble a clock and looked more like a bomb detenator. You have to use some common sense, people. The teacher did the right thing. Now get over it you freaking libtards.
Does the kid who got suspended for chewing his poptart into the shape of a gun get to bring his poptart to the White House?
Looks like a bomb to me- Yes the arrest was excessive- but still with that being said- seriously? U got that thing in ur backpack and it goes off in English class Id suspect the same thing not matter the race class religion etc
Hay they have made it the way of the world now!
If an American child can be sent home because his poptart is shaped like a gun, then the same goes for non Americans! We can’t be harsh with our own then be careful not to offend others!
Now Obama is going to invite the kid to the White House
