The Miss America pageant has become a source of political controversy yet again.
With all the hubbub over Muslims right now, liberals such as Michael Moore are rallying to their defense, with the filmmaker picketing outside Trump Tower with a sign that reads “We Are All Muslims.” Not everybody, however, is buying Moore’s argument.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Miss Puerto Rico herself, Destiny Velez, had a heated exchange with Moore over Twitter, saying that the God of Muslims was not the same as the God of Jews and Christians and that there was “no comparison” between Islam and the latter religions.
As you might have expected, a lot of people were angered by Velez’s comments, leading to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization suspending her for “actions and behavior contrary to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization.”

Doesn’t the”Miss Peurto Rico Organization” realize they need her more than she needs them. How doesthat work? You fire the Person that Earns you the crown or title? Seems a bit short sighted..what would happen if Miss Puerto Rico steps down gives back all Fame money n hoopla..they gonna hold another pageant in time to compete globally..doubt that..they’re screwed till next time..I’d like to see that play out in media.
She is even a bigger winner now. Now you have respect. Not to mention your totally beautiful.
Good for her
Is she single?
I support her and if that is the game they play close the whole thing down. I never thought any of it was a good idea to start with.
She is right
So much for free speech!
For telling the truth !
I agree with her 100 percent
Freedom of Speech !? or speechless freedom !?
