The Miss America pageant has become a source of political controversy yet again.
With all the hubbub over Muslims right now, liberals such as Michael Moore are rallying to their defense, with the filmmaker picketing outside Trump Tower with a sign that reads “We Are All Muslims.” Not everybody, however, is buying Moore’s argument.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Miss Puerto Rico herself, Destiny Velez, had a heated exchange with Moore over Twitter, saying that the God of Muslims was not the same as the God of Jews and Christians and that there was “no comparison” between Islam and the latter religions.
As you might have expected, a lot of people were angered by Velez’s comments, leading to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization suspending her for “actions and behavior contrary to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization.”
Turn to the next page for more information about Miss Puerto Rico’s comments on Muslims:
If she criticized Christianity, there would be no suspension. She is smart and truthful. If she were Muslim criticizing Christians, nothing would have been done, proving fear of Muslim violence.
she is my hero, you go girl
And that’s BS. What happened to free speech?
The truth is not always what people want to hear, good on her for standing up
