Dems love to scream about the doomsday and end of the world scenarios they associate with changes to welfare. They label Republicans as heartless for daring to suggest working is a viable source of income instead of welfare.
Maine must be making liberal’s come unhinged as the welfare reform, put in place by Republican Gov. Paul LePage has been an enormous success, with welfare numbers dropping by 56, 506 people and unemployment also benefiting as well.
How one asks? What did they do? Read on page 2.
Outside of the fact that I HATE Truthand Action’s Method of dispensing their message (haveing to go to a second page), I highly commend the State of Maine…Just wish the governors of the other 49 states would do the same…
Every state should do this ,people are. Making a life just living on welfare ,make them work are go to school and learn something and subsidize ,but at least get off the couch.
Good for him!!! Don’t listen to the idiots that want to keep people enslaved to the government!!!
Ever since Dan Rather famously stuck his foot deeply in his mouth, I’ve been fact-checking things that seem too good to be true. Al Jazeera is hardly a friend to America or to the Right, but it confirms the results. And a drop in unemployment of about 16% of the unemployment rolls, isn’t insignificant. http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/7/23/maine-welfare-work.html
About time this is needed in every state
when i first moved to London. On. Canada i found myself on welfare (not nice) i was told i had to join a program at The memorial Boys’ & Girls’ Club — we (the women) went out and did housewrok–banking–laundry etc and we received our monthly cheques— so work for welfare is a good idea.
Thats what all states need to do.
Charlie Hoskins Nope.
How can you insinuate that removal of the free ride would push people to actually work to feed themselves like I have for 40 + years. Shameful, shameful. (just kidding)
I didn’t read the article but i am going to guess it went down. I must have ESP’n
