London Mayor: ‘Part-Kenyan’ Obama may have ‘ancestral dislike’ of UK

Boris Johnson, the outgoing mayor of London, has criticized Obama and suggested his attitude towards Britain might be based on his “part-Kenyan” heritage and “ancestral dislike of the British empire”. There is a reasonable foundation to Johnson’s claim if you read through Obama’s book about his father titled “Dreams from My Father,” which show his father to be a sometimes violent, virulent communist and anti-colonialist with a hatred for the British empire. Conservative author Dinesh D’Sousa made a movie about the same topic which also supports the mayors comments. And Johnson provided an anecdote to support his contention.

Writing a column for The Sun newspaper the outgoing Mayor of London recounted a story about a bust of Winston Churchill purportedly being removed from White House.

“Some said it was a snub to Britain. Some said it was a symbol of the part-Kenyan President’s ancestral dislike of the British empire – of which Churchill had been such a fervent defender,” he wrote.

The White House said in 2012 that the story of the bust being moved was “100 per cent false” and that the bust remained in the White House, having been moved to the President’s private residence.

It was however later forced to clarify that the Churchill bust still located in the President’s residence was in fact a different bust, and that one had indeed been removed.

President Obama once again is simply unable to tell the truth, even with something as insignificant as whether a gift from our ally had been removed and returned to the sender. It is, among other things, the mark of a very small man.

Of course Johnston’s comments elicited denials and denunciations from other British pols who are seeking to curry favor with the president. But the reality is that Obama has damaged our relationships in the international community with friend and foe alike. His clumsy and clueless attempts at world leadership have been hindered by his arrogance, his ego, and his ineptitude.  Our best hope is that he will not have time to do much more damage as the term of his presidency runs out.
