David Letterman’s 33-year run on late-night television was marked by his acerbic sense of humor.
Upon retiring in 2015, he’s undergone a metamorphosis into someone almost unrecognizable from the more comedic guy people watched on the “Late Show with David Letterman”.
He’s grown a full beard, which coupled with his balding head, makes him look like a guy wanting to moonlight as a department store Santa Claus.
But beneath that kindly-looking exterior lurks a clearly bitter and troubled man, as evidenced by recent nasty remarks about President Donald Trump.

What a buffoon
I am from Indiana and I do not care for Letterman. I thought his show was antagonistic. He was not funny, but he laughed at himself. He thought nothing of being nasty to guests. The episodes of Sarah Pail were despicable especially since he had the story wrong and made no apology, just kept going on and on. All that time he was carrying on with a gal that worked for him. His girl friend of 15 years waited for him at home and then Henry was conceived and they finally married. Kettle calling pot black. He was just getting disgusting over the years, just thought he could and did say whatever. He does fantastic things for his Alma Mater. But that doesn’t make me respect him.
