Since the men and women who serve as judges attended law school, the question must be asked what these law schools are teaching. Or perhaps a better question would be, “with what are these law schools indoctrinating their students?” Far too often we learn of judicial decisions that make no sense, and we’re not talking only of the bizarre decisions federal judges have made regarding President Trump’s travel ban.
The courts have power because the people respect them and the executive branches enforce their decisions. Take these away, and the courts just turn into editorial departments. Sometimes it seems like that is the direction they wish to take.
More on page two.

The more infringements we accept (usually for a great reason like, “for the kids” or “prevent drunk driving” etc..) the more freedoms just drip away until people don’t even know what their rights are.
I could not agree more. And having a law degree should not be a requirement, only a 4 year college degree to assure literacy and reading comprehension. Judges should come from the ranks of the average citizen, since that’s who they’re wielding power over. When judges are selected from the local bar association, and the judge on Friday will be playing 18 holes with either the prosecution or the defense on Sunday, what kind of system is that?
That sure has been a part of it. But a big part of it has been “hey can I get us some money for —-”
Heck even in a way the zimmerman case was caused by that. Martin would have been arrested and hopefully straightened out before this ever occurred had the school supervisors not been paid on the basis of how few arrests the people they supervised made.
Doublespeak. They’re redefining words to create their loopholes.
Improper use of a safety device or potential safety hazard.
Ray Todd Stevens Asset forfeiture hurts on both sides. Police departments buy all kinds of toys with those funds (and Fed grants as well) because they see both as free money. Seldom is thought put into maintenance/replacement costs, training, or additional manpower required to use those toys. I have personal experience with the abysmal failure of projects set in motion with forfeiture money.
These are the kind of judges that Liberals want…those who make cases based upon their personal feelings or biases rather than precedent, the law, and/or logic. Granted, in this case the bias was a conservative one, but the general approach was one which every non attorney Liberal would approve.
Real BS Our courts do not believe in the constitution.
Welcome to the U.S.S.A. AND I DIDN’T STUTTER!
This is about probable cause but the c**p journalist relied on innuendo rather than the statements of the officer wherein he was able to articulate based on his training and experience a reasonable inference that a crime had taken place. It easy obvious when one reads the ACTUAL court decision that the officer writes a lot better than this journalist.
