Since the men and women who serve as judges attended law school, the question must be asked what these law schools are teaching. Or perhaps a better question would be, “with what are these law schools indoctrinating their students?” Far too often we learn of judicial decisions that make no sense, and we’re not talking only of the bizarre decisions federal judges have made regarding President Trump’s travel ban.
The courts have power because the people respect them and the executive branches enforce their decisions. Take these away, and the courts just turn into editorial departments. Sometimes it seems like that is the direction they wish to take.

Mike a man’s home is his castle… But a car’s a car.
Does it have to be those two things together. How about no plastic bags but a reclined seat or plastic bags but a seat that was raised
Activist judges making Law from the bench, ignoring the Constitution, is killing our Country. Typical Liberal judges supplied by the Obozo Administration!!!
Wayne Sirmon That’s true, but elected judges can be terminated on election day.
Eric, you bloviate quite well, but you are still wrong. Perhaps you should reread the 4th Amendment. You will find it enlightening.
This is exactly what officer Dominic Izzo said on his pod cast before they fired him,
All i’m reading is a bunch of druggies bitching about objects within view of a reasonable person without extraordinary effort. If you don’t want nailed, put your cigarillo wrappers, baggies, brulee torches, canisters, pipes, bongs, seeds, buds, syringes, spoons, baking soda, and lighters out of sight. Of course, your car will probably smell like a rotting skunk from 1/2 mile away. Is that improper search, if you smell like a skunk crawled inside you and died? Damned tweekers.
Asset forfeiture has been around since biblical times. It was included in our very first Continental Congress. It is the ability to deprive criminal enterprises of their working capitol. It furthermore takes the profit out of crime. It is foundational in law enforcement.
One of the issues here is that driving is a privilege that happens on government property. So, your right to privacy in your car is often removed by state law, which you agree to by driving on the road. Sadly, most people have no clue what that part of the law says in their home state or in the state where they are driving. Some courts have moved to increase the expectation of privacy and the impact of the 4th Amendment on vehicles while other courts have continued along the lines of government property, government control.
While this ruling is on its face ludicrous, it is hard to judge it honestly without any knowledge of the underlying Kansas law on search of vehicles.
David Kent as a so called cop then you must have seen the so called effects of drugs on your neighbors and citizens you were tasked to protect , hard to believe you would take this view after what you surely witnessed was the destruction of neighborhoods by drugs and the trash that lives this lifestyle
