Since the men and women who serve as judges attended law school, the question must be asked what these law schools are teaching. Or perhaps a better question would be, “with what are these law schools indoctrinating their students?” Far too often we learn of judicial decisions that make no sense, and we’re not talking only of the bizarre decisions federal judges have made regarding President Trump’s travel ban.
The courts have power because the people respect them and the executive branches enforce their decisions. Take these away, and the courts just turn into editorial departments. Sometimes it seems like that is the direction they wish to take.

Actual criminals are too dangerous to pursue.
b******t!!!!
It’s called “probable cause”. It has been the standard for years. I can’t believe what people call “news” anymore.
Here is the reason for the police action.
Police Officer Chad Loughman called dispatch, which informed him that there was a warrant for Howard’s arrest from Leawood Municipal Court. After learning of the warrant, Loughman called for backup, and Sergeant James Carney came to the scene.
Loughman then secured Howard in the back of Carney’s police car and told Howard he was being put under arrest pursuant to the Leawood warrant.
Loughman then took the passenger’s identification and learned from dispatch that there was a warrant for her arrest from Prairie Village Municipal Court.
After removing the passenger, Loughman moved the passenger seat forward and found a firearm, subsequently classified in the record as an AK–47 pistol, that was concealed under a floor mat.
After finding the firearm, Loughman Mirandized Howard. Loughman then asked Howard about the plastic baggie. Howard responded that the baggie had previously held marijuana.
Actually you find it more with conservatives than liberals. I live in a, what used to be moderate, conservative state and more than once I have been stopped while doing nothing wrong and they wanted to search me or my vehicle. One time I was walking and had a long coat on, this was before Columbine. Cops stopped and demanded that I open my coat because they wanted to make sure that I wasn’t carrying any weapons. They had no reason to think that I was but they wanted to do it anyway. In fact they knew me and knew that I didn’t have any weapons to carry. It’s all about doing what they want. If I had refused they would have tried to arrest me even though they had no reason to. Abuse of power because the police have been getting away with so much that some are going further and further in abusing their power and becoming the very thugs that they are supposed to be protecting us from. They seem to think that the gun and the badge give them greater power over us than they actually have.
Neal Lautzenheiser I have heard this kind of story before much of it while I practiced as an attorney. I have yet to have found any completely accurate. Oh, not because cops do not abuse their power from time to time. They are human after all. However, they do not want to waste the time or effort. They usually have a reason. They might have had a tip about a threat whose description you fit. Or , as once happened to me, you are coming from a location known as a place where drugs are sold ( I was stopped purportedly for speeding, but he wanted to search my car. I refused. He cited me and showed up in court. Case dismissed and he got a verbal reprimand from the judge I open court). Besides, this discussion is about judges, not cops.
When I was a young man ….Police Officers ….Served and Protected ….
