Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia bluntly told law students at the University of Hawaii in early 2014 that internment camps will one day detain Americans.
“You are kidding yourself if you think the same thing will not happen again.” In “times of war,” Scalia said, citing a Latin expression, “the laws fall silent.”
Of course, the U.S. government is currently engaged in the “war on terror”, which spans across our “Homeland” and the entire planet.

But empty GITMO.
Jerome needs not to worry, he is one of those left wing lunatics.
Detained so they can’t do additional damage? Start with the White House, Congress ad the Supreme Court.
More bufoonery from the right. Get a grip.
“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” – Barack Hussein Obama at a Campaign Stop in Columbia, Missouri, October 30, 2008. I’d say he’s kept his word and has thus far lived up to it.
In Vietnam we fought “The Enemy Within”. They lived and even worked right next to and among the South Vietnamese people. It is a very hard decision to make to detain people who are telling you they are loyal but at the same time are thinking up ways to kill you. It is against our nature to do that, that is why it is so appalling. But if you don’t then think of the consequences. We have to be aware and diligent in our fight on terror. There are almost no boundaries and that criteria has been forced on us by the terrorist themselves. You can either fight to live or just roll over and let them terrorize. I too find it a very hard idea to fathom. But if you look at it that for just a moment you will see the logic as hard as it is, it is logical.
I think it’s time the good judge took retirement into consideration.
Back in the days of the Japanese internment, people were not armed as they are today. It would turn into an all out revolutionary war.
The japanese were detained because their country bombed us, I don’t see any Americans bombing us.
For I know who holds tomorrow, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that he committed unto him against that day.
Problem is, those who fill the Camps will be the only workers in the country. So the rest will slowly starve to death just like those in North Korea.
Detained indefinitely without being charged with a crime. Hmmmm… I recall some President wanting to do that for a long time now.
What are the ramifications of uncons$#%&!@*utionally locking up citizens? Maybe just enough to push them over the edge and make them into an enemy you do not want? Locking people up like this destroys their lives and the lives of their families. An angry man with nothing left to lose is the most dangerous enemy you can have.
