Here we have Texans protesting at an Islamic conference – doing things that they know are extremely offensive to Muslims in a flat-out challenge to their presence.
Of course, Muslim militants will not be backing down, on the contrary, they are here to declare war.

Well put Kevin. The irony is most likely lost on people like him. Calling for the extermination of a group of people because you believe they support extermination of another group of people. How are you any less of a terrorist?
What is happening is a culture war. There is an agenda on the right that likes to appeal to low information voters who are predominantly white, impoverished and certain that people of color have ruined America. Plus having a mixed race POTUS really makes it easy to fire these folks up,as it is easy to portray him as some evil menace..fear is a potent propaganda tool. Obama is an ISIS operative, a secret Muslim etc etc till I am going to puke. You can’t reason with unreasonable people.
