Proponents of the minimum wage often cite it as a tool to uplift people from poverty. While most of these people have good intentions, their economic ignorance crushes economies in some places.
Influenced by the idiotic idea that the state can lift people out of economic turmoil, many states and cities are enacting laws that increase the minimum wage for their area. Seattle is one of these places.
Supporters of the new minimum wage expected it to give the support needed for the poor to lift themselves out of poverty and no longer use the state’s services helping them.

Well why wouldn’t they want to work less and still get the benefits? I’d take advantage of it too. The trick is to make these people ineligible so they don’t take advantage of the system or make it so they still get benefits for a few years and ween them off slowly
People don’t realize that in time the minimum wage will affect the Unemployment benefits..Wages go up,,benefits have to keep pace so what happens..all tax payers are paying for this wage increase,,more of your tax dollars wasted….and $5.00 hamburgers and $2.00 for a small fries…and you’re ordering from Kiosk to pay the wages for the 3 people who keep their jobs,,the other 2 were fired…
