As progressives, rallied by the Obama administration, actively work to curb Americans’ gun rights, one state has raised it’s hand and said “Stop!”
Just last Friday, Idaho announced that it would neither enforce nor abide by federal gun laws. The move was made possible by a measure introduced in the state’s House and Senate and passed unanimously by both chambers.
The law could very well be one of the most serious challenges to the federal government’s anti-gun agenda. Per the wording of the bill, Idaho law enforcement officers would face up to $1,000 in fines as well as misdemeanor charges if they enforce federal gun laws. These punitive measures will likely go a long way in discouraging Idaho LEO’s from collaborating with feds trying to enforce gun laws in the state.
Naturally, the federal government, to say nothing of this virulently anti-gun administration, is not going to be happy about a state rejecting it’s statutes regarding gun ownership and usage. Indeed, after a similar law was passed in Kansas, former Attorney General Eric Holder, a true maven of the gun control lobby, wrote a letter to Governor Brownback threatening legal action against the state over it.
Let’s hope that Idaho is able stay strong if Obama and his goons try to stop them.

What federal gun law are they going against? 34.62% of Idaho’s State Revenue comes from the federal government. If they don’t want to abide by the law, then they can lose over 1/3 of that revenue.
34.62% of Idaho’s State Revenue comes from the federal government. Kiss it goodbye.
Glad I’m an Idahoan………………
Just admit it, Troy. You Demos would quite happily take all our guns…………….
Matthew Hahn neither can dead people
I own multiple guns. I support the 2nd amendment. I do not support any gun sales without a background check. I do not support radicals, whether it’s foreign or domestic like the NRA. The NRA does not represent the majority of legal gun owners. I keep hearing about enforcement of existing laws should be priority, yet which laws are you referring to as not being enforced? So in one breath you say they don’t enforce federal gun laws, and on the other, you advocate to break federal gun laws. You complain about big government, but in order to enforce the laws better they need more ATF agents. The craziest thing is, criminals are getting their guns from legal gun owners. Criminals stealing the gun someone bought to protect themselves from home invasion. Worse, they are going to gun shows buying all the guns they need and walking right out the door. Those shows are big and anyone can easily walk out with a bag full of guns without buying more than one from any single private vendor. It’s the radical gun nuts who are supplying the guns to criminals. How messed up is that? After reading people’s responses on line these days makes me worry less about a foreign terrorist and more about all the people who sound like next Timothy McVeigh.
If the background check records are destroyed after 24 hours, I have no problem with that. Please be advised, that in every country that started out with “registration”, it has always progressed to “confiscation”. Law-abiding gun owners must not be blamed for the actions of criminals. The Second Amendment is the most “infringed” of constitutional amendments…
So at what point is enough, enough Daniel? With this administration and others like it that are so desperately trying to disarm the American citizen, at what point are these restrictive laws going to be more then you can bear and you yourself will say “No more!”?
You say the NRA is a radical organization, well I’m a member of the NRA and will continue to renew my membership as they fight the good fight since I don’t have the time to travel to Washington DC and do it for myself, you see, I have to work. I sure as hell can’t afford the lawyers it takes to challenge these anti-gun groups in court, so I, along with millions of other gun owners, provide dues for the NRA to do it for us. I’ve never considered myself a “radical” and I most certainly do not advocate cutting anybody’s head off for not believing as I do. So, who’s sounding like the next Timothy McVeigh? All I hear is complaints from gun owners that are getting more and more pushed into a corner. We have a 2nd amendment right that is being systematically done away with…it’s a RIGHT, not a privilege! Do not infringe on my rights, any of them!
Yep, unfortunately for Hussein Obama and his liberal friends, our wise forefathers saw his kind coming and provided a way for the citizens to resist an evil government. Now if we can only do something about the brainless liberal portion of our society who don’t understand the values of America.
Jim Logan Judging from his posts, it’s doubtful if Craig B. is able to (willingly) understand or process your reply.
