One of the most pernicious practices of big government is it’s meddling into not only how citizens live but where they live.
With homeowners already subjected to onerous regulations and unreasonable oversight, many Americans are turning to alternative means of habitation. Although the first thing that might pop into one’s mind when they hear this is an image of a mountain man living alone in the wilderness, the truth is that a more viable option is available: motorhomes.
With remarkably less expenses to account for and enough room to provide comfortable living quarters for several individuals, RVs are emerging as the domicile of choice for those tired of the high price tag and red tape that comes with traditional homes. But if the Department of Housing and Urban Development has anything to say about this, it won’t be for much longer. You see, HUD is planning to ban motorhome owners from using their vehicles as their primary residence.
Watch video about HUD’s new regulations on the next page:
everytime we the people find away to make a good living the government comes along and helps themselves to our money or stops us from living the good life. get government out of the way and we will live.

Why Why Why????
Mr. Trump shut Hud. Down
OK, I investigated, this is not a tax exemption of any kind. It’s a regulatory exemption. It expands what things can legally be called an RV. The problem is that it retains the language that specifies that RVs are temporary dwellings, which means that local jurisdictions can and sometimes do outlaw living in a temporary dwelling for more than a certain (short) amount of time, often a month.
The solution for tiny homes is to not try to get your home declared an RV in a bid to avoid regulations on permanent homes. Figure out what regulation you can live with, and try to get your tiny home recognized under that regulation. Perhaps try to get the regulations changed if the obvious classification has unreasonable rules. I understand this is what the tiny home construction industry is trying to do.
For RVs, HUD is not the problem, the jurisdiction where you want to live is the problem. Try to prevent your area from making such a law, or try to get it repealed. I just got a vision of all the people effected parking their RVs in front of the courthouse. That’s temporary. Not sure if that’s a good idea though.
Micro homes and apartments present a serious safety threat
