Chicago has set a record this past September, and not one to brag about. Since 2002, this record has not been matched until now. Fifty-nine murders and 362 gunshot victims occurred in the city with the strictest gun laws in the nation.
The Tribune reported that there were two consecutive weekends where more than 50 people were shot in September and August had more than 40 shootings every weekend.

The thing is, making it harder for law abiding citizens to own guns makes zero difference to people who break laws. And evil isn’t in the objects or tools, evil is in the heart and mind of those intent on harming others, whether it’s a gun, knife, baseball bat, rocks or a fist.
Ok, so for that to happen you understand that the republican lead house, republican lead senate, president, and then every state would have to agree. Do you think that is in the realm of possibility?
Yes, we get it. Bad people do bad things. But guess what. A bad person with a machine gun will do a lot more bad than a person with a baseball bat. It doesn’t take a lot to see this.
No Jason, my point was that any criminal incl cartels can get guns anywhere in the world and bring them anywhere they want if they have a desire to.
Where do cartels buy the guns?
They can’t grow them or make them in a lab. They need enormous factories. Guess what nation has the ability to notice this kind of activity and end it?
When you make guns illegal only criminals(and the gov’t) will have them.
Really?? Do some research on firearm production around the world man! And this country can’t stop the drugs from coming in, or the thousand of immigrants, or counterfeit products from Asia or any other illegal product coming into the country!
A single data point does not constitute evidence. Consider if there was an outbreak of plague in Chicago and there was a huge influx of doctors into the city. We now have a city with high plague rates and many doctors, can we conclude that doctors cause plague?
One data point is not evidence.
