Chicago has set a record this past September, and not one to brag about. Since 2002, this record has not been matched until now. Fifty-nine murders and 362 gunshot victims occurred in the city with the strictest gun laws in the nation.
The Tribune reported that there were two consecutive weekends where more than 50 people were shot in September and August had more than 40 shootings every weekend.

Jason Ladieu, why do so many criminals use guns in Chicago? Haha its not allowed!
Ya right
Democrats gun control proven it doesn’t work.
While Chicago may have strict gun laws, surrounding suburbs and close states do not. That is where the guns come from. If there were strong, enforced, consistent gun laws across the nation that would not be a problem.
Obama that’s why pathetic
Obama’s garbage
Lucas Cook, it has nothing to do with the gun laws in Chicago. I’ve been trying to tell you this. Guns get into the city because the jurisdictions surrounding the state allow super easy gun access. No licenses, no background checks. It would be like living next to Mexico with no border patrol and then being surprised when there is a lot of cocaine hanging around, despite the laws the US might have.
Yeah I know what tour saying…but if gun restrictions went so harsh for law abiding citizens ,and there was more gun owners in Chicago, there would be less crime and murder. Is what I was getting at…
Riiiiiiiiight…
We could loosen the laws in the city while we tighten up the surrounding states. I have no problem with that, as long as they keep the type of laws I’m advocating for. But I think we’d need to stop the flow of guns into the city before we start allowing guns to be deregulated in it. A lot of frustrated citizens and a lot of armed criminals is going to make a lot of shootouts.
