A couple who have lived in Miami Shores for over 17 years is suing the city after being threatened with steep fines for the way they keep their front yard. The trouble came after Miami Shores changed its zoning laws two years ago and insisted Hermine Ricketts and her husband Tom Carroll remove their vegetable garden. The city was serious, threatening a $50 per day fine.
That’s what forced the couple to file suit. Watch the video, learn how much they are suing forĀ and see the vegetable garden the city insisted they rip up on the NEXT PAGE:
I live in california and I used to grow all my spices and peppers in containers on my small padio with the drought measures I had to stop one a week watering wasn’t able to keep it flurishing for daily harvesting.
Perhaps if they had garden in a certain area. If whole front yard is torn up, how does it look after garden is finished? I have a very large garden that has rockery going all around it…very eye-appealing.
keep growing your garden ..everybody should have one these days..
Too much insanity. Wonder why Revolution looks so good?
aww come on really! government goes to far!
I think they are smart. Leave people alone.
Pure evil. Seems as though Miami City Hall are deliberately Targeting this couple.
I hope they win. More people should grow gardens if they have room. Stop wasting water and space keeping your nonfuncctional yard nice for the nieghbors to look at. I am sure most would appreciate the gift of a fresh tomato. A garden is a lot of work and the exercise probaly helps keep this couple heathy.
Guess what?
Cops only follow orders if those orders are to victimize citizens.
They refuse, violently, to serve and protect citizens
