As the issue of child marriage gains more attention, New Jersey legislators decided to do something about it and passed a bill that would prohibit marriage of any children under age 18.
Governor Chris Christie was handed the opportunity to make New Jersey the first state to officially ban child marriage without exception.
Nancy Munoz, the bill’s main sponsor, is a Republican assemblywoman from Union. She introduced the bill after hearing testimony in committee hearings about children being forced into marriage “for religious reasons.”
Under current New Jersey law, children under age 16 can be legally married with parental consent and approval from a sympathetic judge.

IT”S AGAINST OUR LAWS!
Unbelievable! What is happening to our country? This is just so wrong!
Ignorant if true!!!
He is part of the Beast
I saw a picture with Christie holding a kahran
That is unacceptable !!!!!
Sicko! Pedophile enabler!
Those religious traditions you speak about are against our laws! If they want to continue those ‘traditions’ they need to go to a country that allows them to practice being a pedifile!
Christie doesn’t then believe in UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS (for young girls who have a future and a hope shattered by Islam’s CHILD BRIDE / PEDOPHILE CULT). For shame, Catholic Christie. You didn’t believe in GOD’S CREATING WOMEN in HIS SPIRIT IMAGE — EQUAL to Men, evidently (Gen. 1: 27).
It’s wrong just protect the children
