As the issue of child marriage gains more attention, New Jersey legislators decided to do something about it and passed a bill that would prohibit marriage of any children under age 18.
Governor Chris Christie was handed the opportunity to make New Jersey the first state to officially ban child marriage without exception.
Nancy Munoz, the bill’s main sponsor, is a Republican assemblywoman from Union. She introduced the bill after hearing testimony in committee hearings about children being forced into marriage “for religious reasons.”
Under current New Jersey law, children under age 16 can be legally married with parental consent and approval from a sympathetic judge.
Find out what action Christie decided to take and why on the next page.
So common sense protection for children isn’t that big of a deal?
Total and complete failure you retard!
he continues to come up with some really stupid comments
Gutless move on Christie’s part so much for leadership
His has lost all credibility for quite a while now he is bloated RINO!
Well at least we know he cannot be trusted to do what is right! Child marriage is not a religious experience, it is pedophilia at its worst! No one wants these perverts in the USA! Children deserve the protection of our US Constitution! No excuses!
He Chris, this is America…..
How stupid this is against the law in our country
So Christie is a Pedifile also? That is his new profile.
Remove him from being a governer.he wrong an doesnt need to be a governer, who believes that c**p
What about violating the rights of the child?
Christie basically is saying it’s OK for a pedophile to rape a child if the rape is called “marriage.”
