As the issue of child marriage gains more attention, New Jersey legislators decided to do something about it and passed a bill that would prohibit marriage of any children under age 18.
Governor Chris Christie was handed the opportunity to make New Jersey the first state to officially ban child marriage without exception.
Nancy Munoz, the bill’s main sponsor, is a Republican assemblywoman from Union. She introduced the bill after hearing testimony in committee hearings about children being forced into marriage “for religious reasons.”
Under current New Jersey law, children under age 16 can be legally married with parental consent and approval from a sympathetic judge.
Find out what action Christie decided to take and why on the next page.
Well, in my religion, taking taxes is theft, so can I get all my money back????
what an idiot and a fool
Christie is a damn crack head. How does he get busted with cocain and he is still a politician
Church and state separate please! Not to fond of women being stoned, virgin scarifice, animal sacrifice, harems and social programs that may have to support the multiple births, do not believe in Abortion but I want it legally swashed ,not doctors beheaded by sharia law,Doves beheaded to treat leprosy,or people with diseases isolated to islands, crucifixions or eye for an eye remedy if citizen’s break laws etc. The economy would collapse if religious folks did not want to do business with sinners,a lot of adulterers, liars, murderers, idol worshippers, sabbath day shunners , unruly kids toward parents, coveters,a lot of robbers,a lot of different religions and gods, a lot of people do not believe in anything! It is best to keep all religion out of government, because the world is multi religious ,multi cultural, one religions icons or historical figures can be a hero to some and anti Christ to others.
