The State of Georgia has filed a lawsuit against the owner of the website Public.Resource.org for – brace yourself – publishing state laws online.
Within the lawsuit, Carl Malamud is being labeled a ‘terrorist’ by the state of Georgia for posting an annotated version of the entire state body of law.
Under what guise is Georgia suing? This gets even more offensive…

Ok, this makes no sense. Everything that is legal people are being arrested for. While the real criminals run free.
Anything owned by the State of Georgia is owned by the citizens of Georgia. With today’s technology, the idea that they cannot afford to maintain the annotations to the law without being able to charge fees for it is ridiculous. They can still charge for a hard copy, but an electronic copy that’s downloadable should be free.
Oh yes. Government by the people did you say??
