This video details how to make a super-efficient water heater thermo siphoning process. Not only are all the parts he uses cheap or free discards, the project does not need electricity or solar power.
To match this video you will need:
Copper Tubing
Stove Pipe
Water heater
Valves
And of course, water and something to burn.
See the process video after the break and then get started on your own source of endless hot water:
I hope you keep making stuff just like makes my mind work
Left out the relief valve , going to kill your self or someone else . Been doing that with gutted out gas water heater by burning domestic garbage for over a decade now .
Looks like the basis for a good still to me!
Bob Griffin you $#%&!@*ing $#%&!@*. Grow a set already
Jamie, this looks more doable than the other one.
Cute idea but not too practical. First, it’s not an endless supply of hot water when someone has to be there feeding the wood to it and if you are so lucky to have an endless supply of cut up wood. His efficiency gradient is quite poor if he has a stack temp of 400+ degrees compared to a state of the art water heater which is around 140 degrees so not much cost savings there. It would be more practical to install a coil in your wood burner flue and extract heat from that, although because of the temperature difference, the creosote would build up at an extreme rate. You’d have to clean off the coil on a weekly basis. If something becomes high maintenance, the cost savings goes right out the door. But it is a cute idea!
You can heat water without electricity or solar power! Yes, it is called FIRE, a very old way of doing it.
Go back a hundred years or more. Thats all they had was fire to cook and heat water. Its not pointless its smart.
