You can trick your whip all you want, but GM says that car is still theirs, no matter what you’ve paid. In a hearing this week, General Motors attorney Harry Lightsey said that purchasing and paying off your GM vehicle is a license agreement and not ownership.
The U.S Copyright Office is holding a hearing on whether anyone other than the vehicle’s manufacturer has the right to alter the that car’s copyrighted software. With modern design being what it is, this means almost altering anything about the vehicle.
Mechanics and private owners are saying they need to be allowed to make repairs on their vehicles to keep them running or maintain their business. But GM is saying that anyone unauthorized altering anything about the vehicle could create problems with the software and endanger the driver. This sounds more like a business ploy on the part of GM to hold a monopoly on vehicle repairs.

Sounds like some of those GM CEOs need to learn a fuckin lesson
Well come and get my piece of junk then!
well i gues they can keep them all then
Repeating odumbos insanity
Nobody “owns” anything in this country! Its all leased just like beer! The government sells you a license, tabs for your vehicle, insurance, smog sticker, tires, oil, fuel, sales tax on all of this, tickets you for revenue, charges you for a building permit, charges for water, power, sewer, taxes on property to justify their existence, more taxes for police protection, fire protection, schools but teaches children very little & blames the parents for their failure. GM learned from the largest criminal organization in the world! The US Government! If this ploy fails they will get the EPA to ban small repair shops, they will claim pollution, chemical exposure / hazards, or anything else they can think of to use their stealships to cheat the working class!
Better idea: Just let them keep their Obama Motors cars. Give ’em to the union workers in lieu of wages. I’ll not buy (excuse me, I mean “license”) their c**p ever.
My buddy tried this as a defense in court and got chewed up and spit out. Not that I disagree with you though.
And he always will in a state court
Don’t have one. And, never will. Obamamotors.
But federal court will agree everytime. But who has the money and power to get their case up to a federal court, next to no one. Making what the states do a clear case of extortion.
