Legal scholar William C. Bradford, was forced to resign from his position as an instructor of law at West Point. He has privately circulated a draft of an unpublished law review article entitled “Alea Iacta Est: The U.S. Coup of 2017.”
An abstract of that essay posted to Bradford’s LinkedIn page sets up a scenario in which a U.S. president – presumably, Barack Obama – becomes an undisguised “tyrant” who must be replaced by a military junta. More of the alleged uprising on the next page:

Amreica has the legal right to overthrow him, and it is percieved as racist, or a threat of power. This is not Rome.
True, it is their duty to investigate threats of violent attacks in the Government. And, who would they replace him with? Joe Biden? He pretty much holds the same vision for America as Obama.
Most people does not even look at what Obama put into place his first 3 years. Today everybody is either on his cabinet or is a tool for his war machine. My question is what was so wrong with America before, that needed any kind of change.
