Risking his life for eighteen years as a firefighter, Ronnie Edwards has prayed at every emergency scene. His actions have earned him the title of the “Praying Fireman” and those he works alongside admire and support his work ethic and his noble prayer habit. This habit of prayer has landed him in jail for 30 days.
The new mayor of DeQuincy, Lawana Jones is the “first democratic mayor in its history, an African American”, is an atheist, and has taken exception to Edwards prayer life. When she learned of Edwards praying at fires, she decided to do something about it. Sending a memo to all city employees, she told them that “any expression of personal religious belief while on duty was a violation of their contract with the city.”
Ronnie Edwards chose to keep up his prayer vigil as he believes that he must do what Jesus asks of him and not cave to the whims of an atheist mayor.

How can he be put in jail for praying? He did not break any law!!
This isn’t a violation of Church and State like so many other incidents involving prayer in schools or government facilities displaying the Ten Commandments. Separation of Church and State means that the federal government cannot make one religion the national religion and that the freedom of religion is not prohibited. The atheists and ACLU have pushed this belief for years and so many people have fallen for it. This nation was founded on Christianity and shouldn’t be taking a backseat for anyone or for any other belief or religion. This country has stood for 240 years because the Lord God in Heaven has blessed us for following him. This nation allows anyone of another belief to worship their god without any threats to them. Go to the middle east and see what happens if Islam isn’t accepted and followed. Every Christian should be allowed to pray whenever and wherever and especially our first responders and military personnel. This firefighter can’t pray in the religion he believes in that will keep him and his fellow firefighters safe but this mayor can push her belief on him.
F**k that!!
Seeing as the mayor of DeQuincy Louisiana is Lawrence Henagan, a middle aged bald white guy, and NOT Lawana Jones, an atheist African American, this story is deemed not true. http://www.dequincy.org/app-team/firstname-lastname #DoNotBelieveEverythingYouReadOnTheInternet

GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY
Rita Pastore Rast, I’m wit you but I have noticed one mistake though, God did not promised His people to supply their wants, only their needs. Our need as His children is to walk humbly with Him in prayers and thankfulness for His grace to us that is found only in Jesus Christ
How do you know?
